What we do, in six parts.

  1. № 01

    Strategic review & direction

Clarity on where the business is going, and what has to change. Board-level facilitation, growth strategy, and the re-articulation of a plan that has drifted from its original intent.

  2. № 02

    Operational improvement

Where performance is being lost, and how to recover it sustainably. Diagnostic work, cost and efficiency review, and delivery of improvement programmes that hold.

    Read
  3. № 03

    Growth & transaction support

Pre-deal preparation, integration planning, and post-deal advisory. Whether acquiring, merging, or preparing for sale — a calm, senior presence through the transaction.

  4. № 04

    Board & executive counsel

Ongoing counsel for chairs, CEOs, and founders. A trusted sounding board for the questions that don't fit a project — succession, difficult hires, cultural change.

  5. № 05

    Ownership & succession

Support for founder-led and family businesses preparing for the next chapter. Structure, governance, and the personal questions that come with stepping back.

Four steps. No theatre.

We don't have a proprietary methodology. We have a way of working that has held up across two decades of engagements — and a preference for getting things done rather than talking about them.

i.

Listen first

We start with a proper conversation about the business, the pressures, and what's already been tried. No pre-formed answers.

ii.

Diagnose carefully

Analysis done in the open, with the people who run the business. Findings shared as we go — not held back for a final reveal.

iii.

Recommend plainly

Advice written in plain English. A single page of recommendation, backed by the analysis that supports it.

iv.

Support the long haul

Delivery support where needed, and continuity of relationship long after the engagement itself has closed.

Selected casework.

Anonymised summaries of recent engagements. Client names are withheld out of respect for confidentiality, but the shape of the work is faithfully described.

Manufacturing

Strategic review for a family-owned manufacturer

A second-generation owner was considering a partial exit. We worked with the board to clarify the strategy, articulate the value story, and prepare the business for a future transition.

Professional services

Operating model review for a multi-site firm

Fragmented delivery across regional offices was creating duplication. We redesigned the operating model to consolidate shared functions while preserving local autonomy.

Operations · Structure
Distribution

Turnaround support for a regional distributor

Margins had been drifting for several years. We carried out an operational diagnostic, identified the priority areas, and worked with the leadership team on delivery.

Tom brought a level of clarity we hadn't achieved internally. The strategy work was rigorous — but the real value was in the way it was delivered.
Margaret A.Chair, manufacturing group
ii.
A small practice, but senior in every sense. The engagement felt collaborative from start to finish, and the recommendations actually made it into how we operate.
Ian R.Managing Director, professional services
iii.
When you're running a complex business, the value of an independent, experienced voice is hard to overstate. That's exactly what we got.
